Can you use an electric foot file every day?
Once you've gotten into the habit of using an electric callus remover, a common question arises: can you use it every day, or is it better to space out the sessions?

What exfoliation really does
Each pass removes a thin layer of dead skin. That is precisely why you shouldn't overdo it: by removing too much too often, you eventually expose younger, more sensitive skin that hasn't had the time to regenerate.
The right rhythm, in practice
For most people, one to two sessions per week are more than enough to keep heels soft. Very thick areas may handle a bit more at the start while catching up on months of buildup, but then you should return to a maintenance rhythm. The signal to watch for: if the skin becomes red, sensitive, or feels tight after use, you've gone too far, too often.

A matter of listening, not a fixed frequency
There is no universal rule: the skin of someone who stays on their feet all day does not have the same needs as someone who is relatively sedentary. It is better to observe your own skin than to follow a specific number. If you have diabetes or reduced sensitivity in your feet, even greater caution is required: we discuss this in more detail in our article on diabetes and foot care.
And if you are just starting out with an electric callus remover, it is better to start gently and increase gradually rather than the other way around.
