Preparing your feet for summer: the pre-sandal season guide
Warmer days are coming, sandals are coming out of the closet, and that is often when we rediscover the true condition of our heels after months of being hidden in closed shoes.

Why winter leaves its mark
Closed shoes, heating, dry air: the cold months tend to thicken the skin on our heels without us realizing it, since it remains hidden. As a result, when it’s time to put sandals back on, the difference is glaring.
Prepare a few weeks in advance
Rather than trying to fix everything the day before a weekend, it is better to resume a regular routine two to three weeks beforehand: gentle exfoliation once or twice a week, combined with daily moisturizing. We detail the complete ritual in our at-home pedicure guide.

And during the summer
Sandals expose the skin to the sun, sand, and sweat, which can also cause new calluses in unusual places. If hard patches appear, our article on foot calluses explains how to treat them without being too harsh. Since the electric file is compact and USB-rechargeable, it slips easily into a travel kit so you can keep up this routine even while on vacation.
